After a long and necessary hiatus, I am nearly ready to dive into a body of work that’s been germinating for a while, and in preparation for this exposition I’m cultivating a new found love for graphite as I emphatically coax artistic atrophy out the door. Fortunately, there’s plenty of inspiration within my immediate environment, especially considering that I can’t seem to not depict flora…
I’ll be sketching out random elements over the next few weeks for some of the pieces I have planned in order to develop a relationship with the ideas they involve before committing them to pigment and paper. I definitely won’t be rushing this part of the process.. already I am seeing signs of new ideas and directions emerging as I settle into this space and explore it.
